Materna Virtual Solution provides application for secure ultra-mobile access to web-based specialist applications and VS-NfD classified information.
Munich, November 24, 2023 – With TrustOwl from Materna Virtual Solution, authorities working on the indigo environment will in future have a secure intranet browser for ultra-mobile access to classified information.
TrustOwl is the latest application developed by Materna App-Manufaktur exclusively for the indigo environment. This new security concept for the mobile processing of classified information has already been awarded a release recommendation by the BSI (German Federal Office for Information Security). indigo only contains the three native system apps Mail, Calendar and Contacts. Materna Virtual Solution is therefore working on supplementing these basic functions with important apps for secure ultra-mobile working on the iPhone and iPad. For example, mobile applications such as the document editor TrustDok have already been developed for indigo in close cooperation with the BSI and Apple. TrustOwl now extends the indigo product family with the important function for secure intranet access.
Secure access to web-based specialist applications and VS-NfD-graded content
In their day-to-day work, public authorities need secure access to internal information and web-based specialist applications with confidentiality protection, even when on the move via smartphone or tablet. Common browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari do not have a release recommendation under indigo by default. TrustOwl, on the other hand, enables highly secure ultra-mobile access to the intranet and has additional security measures, such as protection against spoofing attacks. Thanks to the strict separation of business and private data, employees can use the mobile devices for both business and private purposes – without having to worry about data protection or security. The application will be evaluated by the BSI in November and simultaneously tested in practice by the authorities. The BSI’s approval recommendation for TrustOwl is currently in progress.
