Our July release is here and with it the latest versions of SecurePIM and the SecurePIM Management Portal. Take a look at what we have improved this time:
SecurePIM Enterprise / Government (9.25.x for iOS & 9.4.x for Android)
Full screen mode for external screens with Stage Manager (iOS)
SecurePIM now supports full-screen use on external screens when Stage Manager is enabled on the iPad.
When you connect your iPad to an external screen, Stage Manager gives you advanced window management: you can group windows, resize them and arrange them freely on the screen.
Citrix support: VDI support in the browser on iPads (iOS)
SecurePIM now supports access to virtual desktop infrastructures (VDI) via Citrix on iPads.
Citrix enables you to access services and data that would otherwise only be available in the regular desktop environment, for example because they are classic desktop applications that cannot be executed directly in the browser. Thanks to VDI support, you have consistent and reliable access via the SecurePIM browser to all internal services and data that your company or authority has made available via Citrix – securely. VS-NfD compliant. From anywhere.
“Other work location” & “Out of office” for calendar events (iOS)
We have added and revised the statuses for calendar events to better reflect your ultra-mobile working day: Specify the status “Other work location” if you work remotely or from home, for example. The “Other work location” status can currently only be displayed in read-only mode in main calendars.
You have a private appointment, are on a business trip or are currently unavailable for other reasons? No problem, the “Out of office” status can help.
Swipe in the mail module (Android)
The module Team mails is now also available offline. Once content has been downloaded, it can also be viewed and edited without an active internet connection. All offline actions are carried out automatically as soon as the connection is re-established.
Smartcard linking in SecurePIM (Android)
With the new update to Android 15, you can search for smartcard readers in SecurePIM, select a device and pair it directly in the app.
Technical information
End of support for Exchange 2016 & Exchange 2019
Microsoft’s support for Exchange 2016 and Exchange 2019 will end on October 14, 2025. From this date, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates for Exchange 2016 and Exchange 2019.
Please make sure you update your email infrastructure in good time before the end of support to ensure the security of your email infrastructure.
Exchange 2016 & 2019 are expected to be replaced by Exchange Server Subscription Edition (SE) in the second half of 2025.
Deactivation of Apple Intelligence writing tools in input fields (iOS)
In SecurePIM, all writing tools from Apple Intelligence – such as rewriting texts or proofreading by Apple Intelligence – have been deactivated in text input fields. This affects both the normal input fields in SecurePIM and embedded web content.
This measure means that Apple Intelligence can be used on the device without Apple Intelligence processing content from SecurePIM.
Note on Apple Intelligence:
Since iOS 18.4, the functions of Apple Intelligence have been fully available on iPhones in the EU. However, if AI functions are activated, there is a possibility that Apple Intelligence will access sensitive content from other apps and process it outside the respective app.
Apple currently does not offer the option of specifically excluding certain apps from use by Apple Intelligence.
We therefore recommend that Apple Intelligence be completely deactivated on devices with sensitive data.
- Configuration of SkipKey for Apple Intelligence via MDM (iOS)
To prevent Apple Intelligence from being activated in the first place, we recommend configuring a SkipKey for Apple Intelligence. SkipKeys can be set up by administration teams during the setup of devices if you use an MDM system, for example. If a SkipKey is configured for Apple Intelligence, the option for activation is not displayed to users during device setup.
Further information on SkipKeys can be found athttps://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/skipkeys. - Manually deactivate Apple Intelligence (iOS)
If you do not use MDM, SecurePIM Enterprise users must manually deactivate Apple Intelligence in the iOS device settings.
For more information on manually deactivating Apple Intelligence, see:https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/iphone/iphc28624b81/ios.
Please update SecurePIM to the latest version on all devices used.
For iOS devices
Some security-critical patches are available with iOS/iPadOS version 18.5. Please therefore update to version 18.5 as a matter of urgency. Please note that we will discontinue support for older iOS versions 6 months after the official release of a new iOS version.
For Android devices
If you are using an Android device, we recommend that you use Android 15. Please update your device if you have not already done so.
SecurePIM Management Portal (Version 2.60.x)
URL processing for Android
The setting for opening URLs outside of SecurePIM has been renamed, as SecurePIM for Android now supports the option of opening links with the device’s default browser. You can find the settingOpenURLs outside SecurePIM underSecurePIMAdministration > Settings > Security > URL handling.
Group administration: Import and export adapted to group authorizations
The import and export functions have been extended and now also take into account the specific group authorizations of administration teams. If an import file contains SecurePIM accounts that are outside the assigned area of responsibility, the process is aborted with a clear error message – the corresponding data is not transferred. This adjustment affects the SecurePIMAccounts andDevices areas, among others.
Group administration: Dashboard filtered by group
The dashboard now only shows the data of SecurePIM user groups for which the respective administration team is responsible.
SecurePIM Accounts: New filter “Registration status”
The registration statusfilter is now available under SecurePIMAdministration > SecurePIM Accounts. This allows you to differentiate between registered and unregistered accounts based on whether or not a device has already been assigned to an account. Clicking onRegisteredusers in thedashboard takes you directly to the filtered view of registered accounts.
SecurePIM Accounts: Advanced bulk actions
For better management of large user groups, the maximum number of displayed entries per page has now been increased from 200 to 1,000 in theSecurePIMAccountsoverview. This means you can carry out mass actions much more efficiently – and send registration codes to up to 1000 accounts at the same time, for example.
Please note the information on the system requirements for the SecurePIM Management Portal. A detailed table can be found in the release notes for version 2.60.x.
