Munich, July 3, 2024 – With the “indigo” security concept, public administration can implement ultra-mobile working with iPhone and iPad in accordance with VS-NfD. As an Apple Managed Service Provider, Materna Virtual Solution is now supporting public authorities with holistic, customized solutions for indigo – from the initial idea to ongoing operation.
For handling classified information in the “For official use only” category, indigo (iOS Native Devices in Government Operation) covers the basic communication and collaboration functions such as mail, calendar and contacts. Materna Virtual Solution complements these native apps with a wide range of additional certified applications and services developed in its own indigo competence center. Materna Virtual Solution’s indigo product portfolio expands the indigo ecosystem with additional apps for secure ultra-mobile working. TrustDok bundles and protects all common document processing functions such as reading, creating, editing, deleting, sharing and local storage in a single application. With the TrustOwl intranet browser, employees have mobile access to internal resources and specialist applications, which is of central importance for the day-to-day operations of the authorities. Currently under development is TrustCam – a camera that enables the secure recording and transmission of photos.
Everything from a single source
Materna Virtual Solution also offers the “indigo-in-a-box” solution in partnership with Rhode & Schwarz and agilimo Consulting – for fast, simple and secure activation of mobile devices. The box contains hardware, software and server infrastructure so that the solution can be put into operation within a very short time. As part of a proof of concept, Materna Virtual Solution also supports the authorities with practical evaluation and adaptation to individual requirements. Furthermore, a DaaS offer (Device as a Service) is available in close cooperation with the parent company Materna. As an Apple Managed Service Provider, Materna Virtual Solution not only supplies the applications and devices required for ultra-mobile working, but also a comprehensive service along the entire value chain. In addition to the development of government-specific applications, the portfolio of the indigo Competence Center includes a learning platform for the correct use of indigo, an indigo Readiness Check for checking the infrastructural conditions, experts “on demand” as well as support and advice on the design, rollout and operation of indigo environments.
Customized app development for the public sector
Materna’s App-Manufaktur also plays a key role in the solution portfolio for public authorities: Its experts develop customized applications that are tailored to the special requirements of the public sector with its specific specialist procedures. The offer covers the entire life cycle of the app – from the initial idea to ongoing operation.
