Materna Virtual Solution and Wire Launch Partnership for Secure Ultra-Mobile Work—Up to VS-NfD Level When Required
Munich, June 30, 2026 – Materna Virtual Solution, a specialist in highly secure work environments on mobile devices, and Wire, provider of the secure communication platform Wire, are joining forces in a new strategic partnership. Together, the two companies deliver comprehensive, sovereign solutions for ultra-mobile work.
Through their collaboration, Materna Virtual Solution and Wire are addressing a key challenge faced by government agencies and security-critical organizations: While ultra-mobile work has long been a reality, the demands on information security, compliance, and digital sovereignty continue to rise. This calls for comprehensive and secure solutions for ultra-mobile work that support security levels up to VS-NfD, depending on requirements, while enabling productive, device-independent work on smartphones or tablets—without relying on fragmented applications or platforms based outside the EU.
The partnership also marks the beginning of a close technological collaboration centered on the Messenger Wire app from the company of the same name and the established SecurePIM container solution from Materna Virtual Solution. SecurePIM bundles key modules for secure, ultra-mobile work—all protected within a single app—including email, calendar, contacts, browser, camera, and other features. These modules are now being specifically enhanced with features from the Wire messenger, including secure messaging, video conferencing, and secure voice and video calls.
Using the secure address book integrated into SecurePIM, protected contacts can be used directly for Wire calls. Building on this, further expansion phases will follow to gradually map work and communication processes onto smartphones and tablets within a secure environment, without any disruption in the user experience.
“The time for compromises must now come to an end. Government agencies and organizations with heightened security needs require mobile solutions that combine security with practicality for everyday use,” says Daniel Zimmermann, Managing Director at Materna Virtual Solution. “Our vision is to make digital and mobile sovereignty a reality. With Wire, we’re taking an important step in that direction—through secure communication and collaboration on smartphones and tablets, integrated into a protected, ultra-mobile work environment.”
“The new partnership is not a short-term project, but rather the starting point for joint product development,” emphasizes Oliver Brown, Chief Commercial Officer at Wire. “By providing controllable, sovereign, and tailor-made solutions for government agencies and security-critical organizations, we create real added value—and systematically build on that foundation: controllable, sovereign, and at the VS-NfD level.”
