Our July release is here, and with it come the latest versions of SecurePIM and the SecurePIM Management Portal.
Take a look at what we’ve improved this time around:

SecurePIM Enterprise / Government  (9.25.x for iOS &

9.4.x for Android)

Full Screen Mode & Customizable Window Size for External Monitors with Stage Manager (iOS)

SecurePIM now supports full screen mode on external monitors when Stage Manager is enabled on your iPad.
When you connect your iPad to an external monitor, Stage Manager gives you advanced window management: you can group windows, resize them, and arrange them freely on the screen.

Citrix Support on iPads: VDI Support in the Browser (iOS)

SecurePIM now supports access to virtual desktop infrastructures (VDI) via Citrix on iPads.
Citrix enables you to access business applications, services, and data that would otherwise only be available in the regular desktop environment, for example because they are classic desktop applications that cannot be run directly in the browser. Thanks to VDI support, the SecurePIM browser gives you consistent and reliable access to all internal services and specialist applications that your company or government authorities have made available via Citrix – securely and in compliance with VS-NfD regulations. From anywhere.

“Working Elsewhere” & “Out of Office” for Calendar Events (iOS)

We have added and revised the statuses for calendar events to better reflect your ultra-mobile workday:
Select the status “Working Elsewhere” if you are working remotely or from home, for example. Do you have a private appointment, are you on a business trip, or are you unavailable for other reasons? No problem, the “Out of Office” status is here to help – and now it’s conveniently displayed correctly.

Swiping in Mail Module (Android)

Swipe right to mark emails as read or unread. Swipe left to quickly reply or delete. Tap the menu button to access all available actions.

Smart card Reader Pairing in SecurePIM (Android)

With the new update to Android 15, you can search for smart card readers in SecurePIM, select a device, and pair it directly within the app.

Technical Information

End of support for Exchange 2016 & Exchange 2019

Microsoft will end support for Exchange 2016 and Exchange 2019 on October 14, 2025. From this date, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates for Exchange 2016 and Exchange 2019.
Please update well in advance of the end of support to ensure the security of your email infrastructure.
Exchange 2016 & 2019 are expected to be replaced by Exchange Server Subscription Edition (SE) in the second half of 2025.

Disabling Apple Intelligence Writing Tools in Text Input Fields

In SecurePIM, all Apple Intelligence writing tools – such as text rewriting or proofreading by Apple Intelligence – have been disabled in text input fields. This affects both normal input fields in SecurePIM and embedded web content.
This measure allows Apple Intelligence to be used on the device without content from SecurePIM being processed by Apple Intelligence.

Note on Apple Intelligence
Since iOS 18.4, Apple Intelligence features are fully available on iPhones in the EU. However, when AI features are enabled, Apple Intelligence may access sensitive content from other apps and process it outside of the respective app.
Apple does not currently offer a way to specifically exclude certain apps from being used by Apple Intelligence.
We therefore recommend completely disabling Apple Intelligence on devices containing sensitive data.

  • Configuring SkipKey for Apple Intelligence via MDM
To prevent Apple Intelligence from being enabled in the first place, we recommend configuring a SkipKey for Apple Intelligence. SkipKeys can be set up by administration teams during device setup, for example, if you use an MDM system. If a SkipKey is configured for Apple Intelligence, the option to enable it will not be displayed to users during device setup.
For more information about SkipKeys, visit https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/skipkeys.
  • Manually Disabling Apple Intelligence
If you don’t use MDM, SecurePIM Enterprise users must manually disable Apple Intelligence in the iOS device settings.
For more information on manually disabling Apple Intelligence, please visit: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/iphone/iphc28624b81/ios.

Please update SecurePIM to the latest version on all your devices.

For iOS-Devices

With iOS/iPadOS versions 18.5 some security-critical patches are available. Please therefore update to version 18.5. Please note that we will discontinue support for older iOS versions 6 months after an official release of a new iOS version.

For Android-Devices

If you are using an Android device, we recommend that you use Android 15. Please update your device if you have not already done so.

SecurePIM Management Portal (Version 2.60.x)

URL Processing for Android

The setting for opening URLs outside SecurePIM has been renamed because SecurePIM for Android now supports the ability to open links with the device’s default browser. You can find the setting Open URLs outside SecurePIM under SecurePIM Administration > Settings > Security > URL Handling.

Group Administration: Import and Export Adjusted to Group Permissions

The import and export functions have been expanded and now also take into account the specific group permissions of administration teams. If an import file contains SecurePIM accounts that are outside the assigned area of responsibility, the process is aborted with a clear error message – the corresponding data is not transferred. This adjustment affects the SecurePIM Accounts and Devices areas, among others.

Group Administration: Dashboard Filtered by Group

The dashboard now only displays data from SecurePIM user groups for which the respective administration team is responsible.

SecurePIM Accounts: New “Registration status” Filter

The Registration status filter is now available under SecurePIM Administration > SecurePIM Accounts. You can use it to distinguish between registered and unregistered accounts based on whether a device has already been assigned to an account or not. Clicking on Registered users in the dashboard takes you directly to the filtered view of registered accounts.

SecurePIM Accounts: Extended Mass Actions

For better management of large user groups, the maximum number of entries displayed per page in the SecurePIM Accounts overview has been increased from 200 to 1,000. This allows you to perform mass actions much more efficiently – for example, sending registration codes to up to 1,000 accounts at the same time.

Please also note the information on the system requirements for the SecurePIM Management Portal. A detailed table can be found in the release notes for version 2.60.x.
