April showers bring May flowers – We may not be making flowers bloom, but we do have the latest versions of SecurePIM and the SecurePIM Management Portal. Take a look at what we have improved this time:
SecurePIM Enterprise / Government (9.21.x for iOS &
9.3.x for Android)
Edit Local Bookmarks in Browser Module & Workspace (iOS)
You can now edit local bookmarks directly in the Browser. There you can change the URL, change the saved view mode, or delete the bookmark.
Would you prefer to edit your local bookmarks directly in the workspace? No problem: Under the “Bookmarks” menu item, you can change the name or URL or delete the bookmark.
You can also rearrange all bookmarks in the list using the drag-and-drop icon – both local bookmarks and bookmarks from your organization.
Improved Address Search for Calendar Events (iOS)
Have you gotten used to the improved contact search in the calendar? Great, because here comes another update:
If you tap and hold a name tile in the list of participants already added, the overlay menu will now also display all saved email addresses. The main contact address is already selected in this overlay. You can choose between the saved addresses in the overlay menu and change the email address added to the appointment if necessary.
Improved Overview in the Calendar (Android)
Past appointments in the Calendar module are now visible at a glance in the week and month views with this update: as soon as they have ended, they are automatically greyed out. The change applies to both the list and grid view.
Team Mails now also Available Offline (Android)
The Team Mails module is now also available offline. Once content has been downloaded, it can be viewed and edited without an active internet connection. All actions performed offline are automatically carried out as soon as the connection is restored.
Technical Information
End of support for Exchange 2016 & Exchange 2019
Microsoft will end support for Exchange 2016 and Exchange 2019 on October 14, 2025. From this date, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates for Exchange 2016 and Exchange 2019.
Please update well in advance of the end of support to ensure the security of your email infrastructure.
Exchange 2016 & 2019 are expected to be replaced by Exchange Server Subscription Edition (SE) in the second half of 2025.
Disabling Apple Intelligence Writing Tools in Text Input Fields
In SecurePIM, all Apple Intelligence writing tools – such as text rewriting or proofreading by Apple Intelligence – have been disabled in text input fields. This affects both normal input fields in SecurePIM and embedded web content.
This measure allows Apple Intelligence to be used on the device without content from SecurePIM being processed by Apple Intelligence.
Note on Apple Intelligence
Since iOS 18.4, Apple Intelligence features are fully available on iPhones in the EU. However, when AI features are enabled, Apple Intelligence may access sensitive content from other apps and process it outside of the respective app.
Apple does not currently offer a way to specifically exclude certain apps from being used by Apple Intelligence.
We therefore recommend completely disabling Apple Intelligence on devices containing sensitive data.
Configuring SkipKey for Apple Intelligence via MDM
To prevent Apple Intelligence from being enabled in the first place, we recommend configuring a SkipKey for Apple Intelligence. SkipKeys can be set up by administration teams during device setup, for example, if you use an MDM system. If a SkipKey is configured for Apple Intelligence, the option to enable it will not be displayed to users during device setup.
For more information about SkipKeys, visit https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/skipkeys.
Manually Disabling Apple Intelligence
If you don’t use MDM, SecurePIM Enterprise users must manually disable Apple Intelligence in the iOS device settings.
For more information on manually disabling Apple Intelligence, please visit: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/iphone/iphc28624b81/ios.
Please update SecurePIM to the latest version on all your devices.
For iOS-Devices
With iOS/iPadOS versions 18.5 some security-critical patches are available. Please therefore update to version 18.5. Please note that we will discontinue support for older iOS versions 6 months after an official release of a new iOS version.
For Android-Devices
If you are using an Android device, we recommend that you use Android 15. Please update your device if you have not already done so.
SecurePIM Management Portal (Version 2.59.x)
End of Support for MariaDB 10.5
Support for MariaDB version 10.5 and older ends with the July release.
As of the July release, only MariaDB version 10.11.x (LTS) will be supported and recommended.
End of Support for PostgreSQL 13 and Support for PostgreSQL 17
Support for PostgreSQL version 13 and older will end with the November release.
With this release, we also support PostgreSQL 17.
Smart Categorization: News in Email Handling
The Email Classification function has been changed to Email Categorization and expanded: It is no longer mandatory to select a default category when activating the Email Categorization function. Instead, you can now specify whether users must select a category when sending. The setting can be found under SecurePIM Administration > Settings > Email > Email Categorization.
Admin Roles 2 – Now You Can Group Them!
Admin roles can now be restricted to specific SecurePIM user groups. This means that administration teams can only see and manage the accounts and devices of the groups assigned to them. This new function helps to better distribute responsibilities within the team and clearly regulate access. The setting can be found under Company Administration > Roles & Permissions, in the new Groups section.
By default, access to all groups is permitted – however, it can be customized and limited to one or more groups using the new Group access function.
Please also note the information on the system requirements for the SecurePIM Management Portal. A detailed table can be found in the release notes for version 2.59.x.
Download the new versions now
The new version of SecurePIM is now available in the Apple App Store (version 9.21.x) and in Google Play (version 9.3.x). Update now and benefit from the latest features.
Detailed release notes on the current versions of SecurePIM and the SecurePIM Management Portal including system requirements can be found in the Infohub.
