Autumn is just around the corner, and with it comes our September release. You can look forward to helpful new features and improvements in SecurePIM and the SecurePIM Management Portal.
SecurePIM (9.29.x for iOS & 9.5.x for Android)
Preparations for iOS 26 & iPadOS 26: SecurePIM Uses New Phone App on iPad (iOS)
iOS 26 & iPadOS 26 will be released on September 15, 2025. We are already preparing SecurePIM for the new operating system and are working on making the app compatible with iOS 26 & iPad 26.
Want an example?
The iOS telephony app is also coming to the iPad with iPadOS 26. SecurePIM can now use the new iOS telephony app on iPads. The telephony app opens when you start a call from the Contacts module in SecurePIM and Facetime is enabled in the system settings.
Adaptive User Interface for SecurePIM on iPad (iOS)
With this and subsequent releases, we will gradually transition SecurePIM to an adaptive interface. This UI dynamically adapts to different window sizes and is optimized for small windows (“Small Canvas”) on the iPad. This adaptation enables improved use of Stage Manager on iPads and external displays with iPadOS, while also supporting the new window management features. The result is a secure, ultra-mobile workspace that can effectively replace a laptop.
Our goal is to enable you to work productively and securely anytime, anywhere – without a laptop.
Here’s what we’ve implemented in this release:
- Dynamic user interface in the Browser module: With the current release, we have completely converted the Browser module to an adaptive user interface. The browser now responds fully adaptively to Stage Manager and Window Management.
- Dynamic display of the Contacts module: The display of the Contacts module now adapts adaptively to the window size and is also shown correctly in smaller window sizes.
- Dynamic adjustment of workspace elements: The display of the rows and columns in which the workspace icons are arranged now remains constant even when the iPad is rotated or the window size is changed.
- Uniform interface between iPhones and iPads: In preparation for a fully adaptive SecurePIM, we have standardized the SecurePIM user interface on iPhones and iPads in several modules.
Select Email Account When Creating Messages (iOS)
When creating, replying to, or forwarding emails, as well as when sending documents directly from the Documents module or the document editor, you can now select the account used in the Mail module, provided you have more than one account stored.
Team Mails: Search Function Available Offline (Android)
The search function can now be used without an internet connection.
Swiping in the Mail Module in Search Results (Android)
Swiping in the Mail module is now also available in search results.
Smart Card on Demand Now Also with Integrated Pairing (Android)
Smart card reader pairing is now also available for use with Smart card on demand in SecurePIM.
Technical Information
End of support for Exchange 2016 & Exchange 2019
Microsoft will end support for Exchange 2016 and Exchange 2019 on October 14, 2025. From this date, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates for Exchange 2016 and Exchange 2019.
Please update well in advance of the end of support to ensure the security of your email infrastructure.
Exchange 2016 & 2019 are expected to be replaced by Exchange Server Subscription Edition (SE) in the second half of 2025.
Disabling Apple Intelligence Writing Tools in Text Input Fields
In SecurePIM, all Apple Intelligence writing tools – such as text rewriting or proofreading by Apple Intelligence – have been disabled in text input fields. This affects both normal input fields in SecurePIM and embedded web content.
This measure allows Apple Intelligence to be used on the device without content from SecurePIM being processed by Apple Intelligence.
Note on Apple Intelligence
Since iOS 18.4, Apple Intelligence features are fully available on iPhones in the EU. However, when AI features are enabled, Apple Intelligence may access sensitive content from other apps and process it outside of the respective app.
Apple does not currently offer a way to specifically exclude certain apps from being used by Apple Intelligence.
We therefore recommend completely disabling Apple Intelligence on devices containing sensitive data.
- Configuring SkipKey for Apple Intelligence via MDM
To prevent Apple Intelligence from being enabled in the first place, we recommend configuring a SkipKey for Apple Intelligence. SkipKeys can be set up by administration teams during device setup, for example, if you use an MDM system. If a SkipKey is configured for Apple Intelligence, the option to enable it will not be displayed to users during device setup.
For more information about SkipKeys, visit https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/skipkeys. - Manually Disabling Apple Intelligence
If you don’t use MDM, SecurePIM Enterprise users must manually disable Apple Intelligence in the iOS device settings.
For more information on manually disabling Apple Intelligence, please visit: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/iphone/iphc28624b81/ios.
Please update SecurePIM to the latest version on all your devices.
For iOS-Devices
With iOS/iPadOS versions 18.6.1 some security-critical patches are available. Please therefore update to version 18.6.1. Please note that we will discontinue support for older iOS versions 6 months after an official release of a new iOS version.
Please note: The official release date for iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 is September 15, 2025. Please install the latest SecurePIM version when you update your device to iOS 26.
For Android-Devices
If you are using an Android device, we recommend that you use Android 15. Please update your device if you have not already done so.
